This public blaze farm may be manual, but it is well designed for those who want to combine collecting blaze rods with enchanting their gear. Operated through the use of noteblocks, it pre-crushes the blazes for you so that they can be killed by a single stroke of the sword, which is provided. The enchanting set-up, next to the blaze-killing area, includes: an enchanting table, bookshelves, lapis, anvils, and an ender chest. The farm itself is thoroughly enclosed, but do make sure to stay away from the pressure plates on the first floor unless you want to meet the hostile residents of the nether fortress outside.

Accessing the Farm

The farm entrance is located in the West tunnel at X-102, the entrance area includes an ender chest and a crafting table on the right. Walk a few blocks further into this well-spawnproofed area and it invites you to make a choice. Here you must choose whether to trust-fall down the elevator hole on to powdered snow, or take the less exhilarating stroll down the stairs; either way, you will initially arrive on the first floor of this farm. On arrival, the windows there may make you think that you need to go into the fortress itself to get blaze rods, thankfully this is not the case. Instead, you can take either of the one-block-wide sandstone staircases down to the actual farming area.

Using the Farm

On arrival, you will see two oxidized copper blubs, with noteblocks on top and these copper bulbs should be turned off. Tap both of these noteblocks to turn the bulbs and the farm on. Next you need to stand on the glowstone area of the floor and either wait for the automated crushing to begin or tap the 'manual crush' noteblock on your right. Then you can use the gold sword in the item frame above the killing area to finish-off the blazes. When you have killed enough blazes you can turn the farm off in two stages. Stage 1 is to turn-off the blaze spawning using the noteblock and copper bulb on your right. Then, when you can no longer hear any blazes, you can complete Stage 2 by using the noteblock and copper bulb on your left to stop the farm from sending-out any more minecarts. Once you have returned the sword you are ready to collect your loot, so if you look behind you then you should see two yellow shulker boxes containing the blaze rods you have farmed, plus a few stacks extra so that the farm is not left completely without blaze rods for the next person. Then you can leave via the stairs, carefully avoiding the pressure plates on the first floor.

Things to bring

You can easily harvest a shulker full of blaze rods here so you may wish to bring either a shulker box or plenty of inventory space.
